Our family celebrated our own little Christmas morning this past weekend since we won't be home on the 25th. Emrie & I went for a rainy early morning coffee run & a quick visit to the ocean, the very stormy, waves-crashing-into-the-cliffs, not-another-person-in-sight ocean. It was so fun to be out with my girl, all bundled up, on our very own Christmas morning. We got home, blasted our Pandora Christmas station, got back into our pjs, woke up the daddy, made french toast & opened a few gifts. Of course Emrie's favorite was the box of crayons she got in her stocking. Literally, the actual box. That and my lens cap.
Christmas this year is so much fun, we can't wait for the festivities awaiting us this week. I can't stop thinking about how different this year is than last when Emrie was just six weeks old & everything was so new. We were running on such little sleep & were absolutely overwhelmed with love for our new baby girl, every sound & look & movement simply melted us. And while this year we are getting more sleep (finally, thank God!) & have slipped so comfortably into a routine of being a family of three we are still just as overwhelmed with each new sound & look & movement from our baby (toddler!) girl. I didn't think it could get any better than last year and yet it has, this Christmas is the best yet. With our little Emrie Kent it just keeps getting better.

what a special day for you 4 :) I cant wait to hug on that Emrie!
